Get the most out of the (extra) sunny months with these fun tips & tricks from around the web. I focused on finding solutions made from natural ingredients to keep you and your bod looking and feeling great!
From the BLDG 25 Blog: Hair Lightening Spray
This spray combines kitchen ingredients you probably have on hand right now. Spray on your tresses before a sun sesh for summery highlights.
- brewed chamomile tea (steep for 5 minutes)
- juice of 3 lemons
- Squirt of honey
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
Method: fill a 2oz spray bottle halfway with the tea, then add the remaining ingredients. Fill the rest of the way with warm water.
From RealSimple.com: After-Sun Face Mask
Give your face a chill pill in the form of a natural mask that reduces redness, calms overheated skin, and reduces skin rash. All you need is dry oats and plain, full-fat yogurt! Mix equal parts of the two together and lather on, let sit for 15 minutes then rinse.
For Beachy Hair, without the Beach
I use Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray to get a textured, perfectly tousled look. The instructions say to spray in damp hair then style as usual, but I like to spray my hair while it's dry, throw it in bun for a bit (or overnight) and that leaves me with perfectly textured hair!

From HuffingtonPost.com: DIY Flavored Water
We all know we need to hydrate hydrate hydrate. By doing so your skin, mood, and energy levels will thank you!
Simply infuse fresh, filtered water overnight with the following ingredients. To serve, strain out the used flavorings and replace with fresh ones for one pretty beverage!
- Orange + Vanilla Bean
- Lemon + Blueberry
- Cucumber + Lemongrass
- Lemon + Cucumber
- Mint + Watermelon
- Strawberry + Basil
From LaurenConrad.com: Foundation Swap
Heat and foundation don't make the most dynamic of duos (i.e. streaking, shining, melting...). Give your face a break while keeping it safe by switching to a tinted moisturizer with SPF, like this one by Laura Mercier or this all natural product by Ava Anderson.
I personally just started using the Yes to Grapefruit Correct & Repair CC Cream with SPF 18. So far I really like how light and clean it feels, I will do a review update on this one soon!
From YouBeauty.com: All Natural Fixes
You Beauty has a fantastic list of all natural remedies to summer's beauty probs like chemical free, sustainable nail polishes by Sheswai in fun colors and Erbaviva bug spray that won't totally make you want to itch your skin off (have you ever gone to sleep with 'Off' on your body? AHHH!!). Summer can be stressful on skin so exfoliating is a must! Doing so also helps you to get a super-close shave. Both Frank and Pacifica brands have awesome scrubs made with coffee. COFFEE!!
