Beard Tips from the Experts at The Bearded Bastard
Many of you, our fantastic customers, have been regularly picking up your Bearded Bastard grooming products at Bunky for some time now. Maybe your go-to product is a vial of beard oil, moisturizing beard balm, soothing shave oil, or a combination of those. Maybe you have carefully inspected these items but are not quite sure which is best for you. Or maybe you are needing tips on starting that beard of your own! The great people over at The Bearded Bastard answered some of their customers burning questions, which we have shared below:
How do I grow an awesome beard?
According to the BB team, beard growth comes down to genes, overall health, and how well you take care of your beard. Over time, a healthy beard regimen will coax along healthy facial hair, but there's no shortcut to getting there. Here are some of their key tips:
- Eat Healthy: A diet rich in nutrients and whole foods is more likely to promote healthy beard growth. Check out foods rich in magnesium (kale and salmon), copper (like prunes), silica (like bananas), iron (like spinach), and nuts for healthy oils.
- Don't Overwash: Soap is the enemy of a healthy beard. Wash every few days depending the hair type.
- Use a Good Brush: Combs can pull hair out whereas a brush is designed specifically for coarse hair so you can shape and train without pulling any out.
- Use Beard Oil or Balm: A well-made beard oil that is designed to restore a beard's natural health and shine is it's best friend. You can recommend our products to your clients as the plant-based oils in our beard oils and balms are formulated to replicate a guy's body chemistry, moisturizing his skin and hair without leaving it greasy.
How do I get the most out of my products?
The Bearded Bastard recommends damp drying the beard after showering, shake a couple drops of oil into your hand or scoop out a nickel-sized amount of balm, work it into your hand, and then pull it through the hair.
